Abstract

Randomly selected seventy-nine subjects in both sex aged at twenties were examined to inspect the occlusal wear facets on each teeth of upper and lower jaws. After taking full-mouth standard radiography, films were interpreted compared with the occlusal wear facets inspected. The following results were obtained;
1. In the upper jaws, the occlusal wear facets were appeared on the tooth of canines, lateral incisors, and central incisors frequently and in the lower jaws, canines, first molars, and first premolars.
2. In both of jaws, the sign of trauma from occlusion was observed on the teeth of first premolars, second premolars, and first molars more frequently.
3. The canines had the highest frequency in occlusal near facets but the lowest sign of trauma from occlusion.
4. It was presumed that the anatomical features of the roots and the surrounding periodontiums were a major role to initiate the trauma from occlusion,
